ANKASMARKA INCA TRAIL
This activity starts with a drive to the town of Calca, an important connection hub to the southern jungle valleys of Cusco. We will take the road that climbs up the gorge towards the heights of Calca until we reach the archaeological site of Ankasmarka, which means "Village of the Eagle." Here, we will explore the ancient archaeological site containing more than 600 pre-Inca and Inca constructions (so far). Afterward, we start hiking the “Capaq Ñañ,” or Royal Inca Trail, along a biodiverse creek that will lead us to the Cochocc River. We will enjoy the native forest, beautiful landscapes, a peaceful environment and a delicious box lunch on route. Afterward, the vehicle will pick us up at the end of the hike and take us back to our hotel.
