Dear friends and partners of La Base Lamay,
Warm greetings from Lamay—our home and now a growing destination in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. From here, we are committed to promoting responsible, purpose-driven tourism, actively inviting the people of Lamay and its surrounding communities to be part of the journey and the business itself.
The year has gone by quickly, and despite the ups and downs of the tourism industry, we continue to strengthen our project: creating new experiences, involving more communities, collaborating with local initiatives, friends, and producers, and welcoming an ever-growing number of travelers seeking meaningful connections—with nature, local culture, and themselves.
This is why our focus remains on sharing the best of Lamay and the Sacred Valley: fostering harmony and well-being, respect and awareness, and a way of living in community and in balance with our surroundings—the Pachamama and the Apus.
Thank you for trusting us and for giving us the opportunity to work together as a team, united by a shared purpose.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the people and institutions who represent us in the ongoing effort to organize, formalize, and strengthen the tourism industry—ensuring that tourism truly benefits local communities while protecting our natural resources.
We invite you to discover a glimpse of who we are: our team, our friends, our experiences, and our beloved Lamay.
Warm regards,
Franco
Our Team: The Soul of La Base Lamay
We believe that the soul of any project lies in its people, and every experience we offer is born from a collective effort.
Our team brings together the ancestral wisdom and authenticity of local partners; the passion, experience, and spirit of our guides and interpreters; and the care and attention to detail of the entire La Base Lamay team.
More than a team, we are a family united by a shared mission: caring, sharing, and positioning Lamay as a destination for cultural, nature and adventure tourism.
Our Experiences: Purpose & Connection
From walks through valleys and mountains to visits to the town and communities of Lamay, our experiences are designed to connect travelers with the essence of the Andes—honoring culture, nature, and life in the mountains.
Our activities invite participants to slow down, breathe, feel, listen, and share—creating meaningful bonds that remain alive over time.
Our main experiences include:
Visits to local communities, where ancestral traditions and natural resources are valued and kept alive.
Hiking experiences in valleys and mountains, with spectacular landscapes and meeting with local farmers; sometimes accompanied by pack llamas—always in close collaboration with local communities.
Initiatives led by our local allies and friends in Lamay and the Sacred Valley, offering transformative and positive-impact experiences such as visits to the Bee Sanctuary, mountain biking, fly fishing, birdwatching, and more.
Gastronomic experiences integrated into all our activities, promoting simple, healthy food prepared with local ingredients that nourish both visitors and our community.
LAMAY CREA: a New Initiative for Conservation and Development of a better life
A group of committed and enthusiastic neighbors has come together to work alongside our businesses and the tourism activity, focusing on sustainable development and the protection of nature and traditional culture in Lamay.
This is how Lamay CREA was born—its name reflects its core pillars: Conservation, Regeneration, Education, and Ayni (a Quechua concept meaning collaboration, community, reciprocity, and shared life in the Andes).
We will soon share more about this initiative, launched in 2025 and gaining strong momentum for 2026.Our first major action is the creation of Fire Prevention Brigades in Lamay, in partnership with Valle Sagrado Verde and the Municipality of Lamay.
Each alliance strengthens our mission to care for Lamay and the Sacred Valley while generating positive and lasting impact.
La Base Lamay: Café, Shop & Community Hub
Our space in Lamay is more than just a starting and ending point for activities—it is a living hub where travelers, locals, and transformative projects come together.
In our shop, we offer products from local initiatives, including handicrafts, healthy foods and beverages, natural cosmetics, and traditional medicine.
At our café, we serve food made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that tell a story, while music and cultural activities fill the space with energy and a sense of community.
