At La Base Lamay, we'll connect with local women who will share their knowledge of Andean cuisine and the relation of food with the seasons, farming and traditional celebrations. We'll start by making a tumbo or passion fruit soft drink or a classic pisco sour, and then learn about various native ingredients like tubers, beans, mote, and tarwi.
Together, we'll prepare the traditional ¨Lahua¨ or corn soup, hot sauces like "uchucuta" or "llatan," and grill or bake meat, chicken or fish to pair with a traditional mustard stew called "haucha." Finally, we'll end our experience with a sweet dessert from Cusco region, leaving us with unforgettable culinary memories.
