WALKING FROM URCO TO
INKARIY MUSEUM

Ideal excursion for those who want to combine a soft physical activity, enjoy nature and the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, but at the same time immerse in the development of the different cultures throughout Peru at the Museo Inkariy, in Calca.

Our walk begins at the Urco terraces, along an uncrowded trail surrounded with local farms of traditional produce and ornamental flowers. In the way, we will visit the Urco archaeological site, where we will find a large stone carved with the shape of a Toad, used by the ancient Andean people to interpretate the cosmos and predict the weather conditions previous to the sowing of the corn, potatoes, quinuoa and other products of the area.

Following the trail, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Apu Pitusiray and the Vilcanota river, to finally reach the Inkariy Museum, were we will appreciate in a n interesting and didactic way the passage through time of the different cultures in Peru, from the Moche and Chimu in the North of the country, to the Chankas, the Wari and the Incas in the South.

After the visit we can return to La Base Lamay for a delicious lunch or head to our hotel or next destination.
